On the Road North

Here we are, with all our "stuff" loaded, GPS installed and starting our journey north!

The drive through North Carolina and Virginia was very pretty with all the spring blooms, especially the cherry blossoms in Virginia.

Then came the dreaded I-95!  It was a parking lot yesterday with all the Sunday weekend traffic and the start of the snowbirds heading north.  This photo actually shows one of the few times that we were actually able to gain a little speed...

More blooms as we drive into Winchester, Virginia where we stayed the night.  It was nice to know that at the end of the drive we have a very nice hotel room waiting for us.

We stayed the night at the George Washington Hotel in the old part of Winchester.

After resting in our room for a short time, we strolled along to a nearby pub, The Union Jack.  We enjoyed a couple of cold beers and a meal before heading back to our room and asleep before 10 p.m.
