Our American Thanksgiving

Paul and I celebrated our Canadian Thanksgiving in October with our family, enjoying the traditional turkey dinner. prepared by my sister-in-law.  As we are in South Carolina by mid November, we get to celebrate the American Thanksgiving (28 November) as well, with a couple of modifications to our dinner.
Paul carving our "COSTCO" pre-cooked chicken

LtoR: Traditional USA green bean casserole
and traditional Newfoundland stuffing.
(My first time making the green bean casserole and
it will be added to my recipe book.)

The finished product, served with an ice tea - yummy.

Paul and I are hoping for many more Thanksgiving celebrations at the beach.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Paul and I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving turkey dinner with our friends, Irm and Don.  This year was our first "official USA" Thanksgiving.  Last year we were travelling and spent the day in Augusta, Maine where everything was closed for the holiday.  We ate take-out pizza from a cardboard box in our hotel room, with a Canadian beer.

We are thankful to have met and made such nice friends as Irm and Don.

Happy Thanksgiving

We have much to be

thankful for all year...

but Thanksgiving is that

one special day of celebration

when we consider

all that we have as a Nation,

and as individuals.

All in One Day

Truckin on down the road today...

A view of northern New Brunswick this morning

and a view of I-95 in Maine this afternoon.

Since this was the US Thanksgiving holiday, the only restaurants open in Augusta were Tim Horton's, a local Chinese restaurant and a pizza take-out. So dinner was a pizza from a cardboard box in our hotel room. We did import a Canadian beer.

Tomorrow is still on hold due to weather. We can travel tomorrow with a chance of freezing rain and rain or wait a day and hopefully have a sunny day.....
