Last Day of Exploring with our Friends

This past Sunday was the last day of exploring together, in the Bathurst area, with our US friends.  Paul and I invited Irm, Don, Helen and Bill to join us for breakfast on our back deck.  It was a nice sunny morning and we were happy that the smell of the skunk that passed through our yard earlier in the morning had dissipated.

and some local raspberry jam.

After breakfast we went to Beresford Beach

We next drove along Youghall Beach to the Bathurst Marina area.

It was a great three days of sharing our area with our friends from South Carolina and Kansas.  We hope they enjoyed their time with us and took away nice memories.

A Visit from our Friends

Our friends from South Carolina, Irm and Don, and our new friends from Kansas, Helen and Bill, arrived here in Beresford yesterday for their first tour of the Maritimes.  We treated them to a meal of lobster rolls and Canadian wine at our house then they were anxious to meet our local "Seaglass Queen", Sonia Turner.  Sonia was very kind to give us a detailed presentation on her local seaglass collection from the Bay of Chaleur.

LtoR: Helen, Bill, Sonia, Don, Paul & Irm admiring some of
Sonia seaglass collection.

Sonia sharing on of her many funny beach stories.
This was probably the story of one of the many "soles" she saved
on the beach (shoe soles, that is).

Our friends also toured Sonia's La Garbou
(Garage Boutique - previous posting) and found some keepsakes to
take home to South Carolina and Kansas.

It was a very entertaining evening.  Thank you Sonia.

Another Outing with Tashia

Hospitality Days in Bathurst started on Wednesday so Tashia, Paul and I went downtown to hear a little of the Maritime Night music (The Navigators, a Newfoundland band was playing).  We sat across the street near the tent to listen and had a great view (no chairs are allowed in the tent and we can't stand for too long).
Two happy people.

It was a nice evening.
