On 17 February, Paul turned the big "60". As Barry Manilow would sing, "Looks Like We Made It..."
Paul started his big day with a tasty breakfast out at his favourite breakfast restaurant, Prince Creek Diner, with his favorite item - the golfer's special (french toast, sausage patties, eggs, potatoes and lots of coffee). Then it was back to the beach so he could enjoy reading the local newspaper on our deck, while enjoying the sun. This is where Paul is most content. (I was busy in the kitchen preparing food for the party.)
Paul loves to watch the dolphins and he was happy that they showed up to entertain for his birthday. (Don't ask me how I managed this show - pure luck for sure!). Unfortunately the dolphins did not cooperate for a photo.
Well, at 4 p.m. friends started to arrive to help Paul celebrate. He received cards, candy, golf balls, beer and movie passes. There were also phone calls during the day from family and friends.
I had bought a game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey but we never got around to playing.
We enjoyed finger foods, snack and then a bowl of homemade chili.
Of course there was birthday cake and of course it was chocolate with lots of icing!
We would like to thank our family and friends for making the day special and we wish for many, many more birthdays together at the beach.
Looks like Paul had a wonderful day ... and so well deserved too. Happy Birthday to my Bro! MArilyn, you did a great job once again.
ReplyDeleteAny cake left for me..............É
