Time in South Carolina Well Spent

When packing for our time in South Carolina, I thought I would like to spend some of my time just relaxing so I took along some of my cross stitch supplies. I use to spend many hours cross stitching but it has been over 6 years since I took a needle in my hand.

Since we have a house near the ocean and Paul has a deep liking for lighthouses, I thought it would be nice to do a series of lighthouse pictures to hang over our sofa in our living room or on the wall behind our bed. I knew that my sister bought a pattern book of lighthouses of the east coast so I made a copy to take with me.

I am happy to say that I finished my first picture this week of the lighthouse found in Point Judith in Rhode Island. I am now getting ready to start another.

I also like to spend some of my time collecting seashells during our morning walks on the beach and this week I had a couple of nice finds. I hope to make a couple of pictures or a wreath when I get back to Beresford.

I have found only 1 piece of sea glass so far. Paul said that if I was back in Beresford I would have tossed it back in the ocean, but not hear as there are so few pieces. I have to admit he was right!

  2. I agree, your needlework is beautiful. Very neat and tidy as well.

And you sure found some beautiful shells on the beaches of SC. They are actually more interesting than the ones we found on Sanibel which was rumoured to be "the place" for professional shell seekers.

  3. THe cross-stitch piece is beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing your next project.

The shells are beautiful as well. I see there's also a piece of mermaid tears there as well.
